W tych czasach...
In this day and age,... (yn dys dej enejdż) = nowadays,...(bardziej w literaturze, pisaniu)

'In this day and age, one can't afford to buy a house before 30' - w tych czasach nie ma się pieniędzy żeby kupić dom przed 30tką.

*one- jako podmiot zdania, to forma bezosobowa, np. tak jak w Niemieckim 'man kann nicht..', choć nie jest używana zbyt często, tylko do bardzo ogólnych stwierdzeń gdzie nie da się określić konkretnej osoby/podmiotu

Czyny znaczą więcej niż słowa..
Action speaks louder than words ... -
więc przestań mówić że musisz się wziąć do nauki ...

'Action speaks louder than words, you can't keep promising him something and never actually do it'
lub:
-' I will help you one day with this, it's just that this week I am very busy..'
- well ,action speaks louder than words, just come and help me when you are less busy, there is so much to do around the shop..'

Cholera!  (kiedy się potkniesz, coś nie chce wyjść, albo w ogóle jak coś cie wkurza)

Damn it ! (slang) /czyt damyt/*
np: 'God damn it, this is annoying !'


*spopularyzowala się też pisownia 'ze słuchu' - 'dammit'
* damn it jest łagodną formą 'oh f***!' :-D

O biedaku! ( o współczuję! lub : ooo, jak słodko! + oczywiście jako 'na zdrowie!' )

Oh no, bless you...!
Np:
- I had to move out from that flat because the neighbours were just too loud, although they were very friendly. The next day,I met the guy who was living next door to me, and he said that if they had known that they were being so loud, he would have done something about it and that he would miss me as their neighbour.
- oh, how sweet of him, bless him! so they weren't horrible people after all...

where is he ? - 'he is at home, he called in the morning to say that he feels a bit under the weather. He should be back at work tomorrow, though'

- Do you think the accident might have happened because he was so tired that day ?
- I really don't know.. your guess is just as good as mine.. maybe we will find out the cause soon

what is he painting the words on? Is it a factory wall? ... I have no idea, your ____ is as good as mine!'
